Rules of Conduct

Last updated: August 2022

The Rules of Conduct (RoC) describes all the rules we expect our communities to follow on all TLM social platforms. This includes but is not limited to: Forums, Discord, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Twitch. The rules also apply on any in-game chats our games may provide. Certain platforms or channels may have additional rules which will be clearly stated on these platforms.

The Rules are not exhaustive, and may not address all manner of offensive behavior. As such, the moderators and administrators shall have full discretion to address any behavior that they feel is inappropriate.

Each of our games comes with a Terms of Service, the Terms of Service (ToS) describes all other rules not directly linked to communication. You can find rules on subjects such as: Accounts, account sharing, cheating, purchases etc. in the Terms of Service.

  1. Rules

    1. The official language on our platforms is English. Users are encouraged to communicate in English, with the exception of channels or threads that specifically state otherwise. However we understand that not everyone is fluent in the English language and we expect other users to be patient and respectful to those who struggle with the language.
    2. Everyone should feel respected. We do not allow any harassment, trolling, verbal abuse or other types of toxic behavior against staff or other users. This includes, but is not limited to: Offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion and technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events.
    3. We have users of all ages. NSFW, obscene, or sensitive content is strictly prohibited. This includes text, images, or links featuring nudity, sex, hard violence, or other graphically disturbing content. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate on any of our platforms.
    4. We have users of all backgrounds. Sensitive topics, such as politics, culture and religion do not belong on our platforms. We want to create an inviting atmosphere where everyone feels at home, no matter which background or personal beliefs they carry.
    5. Every message is valued. It is not needed to repeat yourself and spamming is not allowed. This includes but is not limited to: Repeating the same sentence or words, (bot) commands or emoji’s. It is also not allowed to repeatedly mention (ping) other users.
    6. The correct channel for the correct subject. We try to make sure that there is a fitting channel for every subject. We expect users to use the appropriate channels for their messages. This makes sure other users can find the information that they need and keeps the platform clean and well organized.
    7. TLM platforms for TLM content. Promotion of any non-TLM related content is not allowed, with the exception of channels or threads that specifically state otherwise. This includes but is not limited to: Other discords, clan websites, youtube channels, twitch channels and other games.
    8. Your name is your identity and should be picked with care. No inappropriate usernames, including but not limited to: impersonations, promoting illegal groups or actions, crazy symbols or trademarked names.
  2. Moderation

    1. Users are expected to follow the rules as stated in chapter 1. When failing to do so administrators or moderators may take disciplinary actions.
    2. Our moderators volunteer their time to uphold our standards, help users with questions and make sure everyone feels safe and respected. We expect them to be shown respect and for users to follow their instructions.
    3. Many platforms give the moderators and administrators the option to hand out warnings before moving forward to a ban. On these platforms, we will always start with two official logged warnings, before moving forward to ban a user. On platforms where this feature is not available an account may be banned without prior warning.
    4. The first ban handed out by the moderation team, will be short-term, the more often a user is banned the longer the ban will become, until eventually a ban without expiration is given.
    5. Certain unique situations may result in immediate permanent bans, such as: Death-threats, disclosing personal information, selling accounts, alt-accounting or scams.
    6. If a user has been warned twice or received a ban in the past. And the last moderation was done more than 12 months ago, an additional warning will be given before a user will be banned from our platform.
    7. All admin decisions are final, so please be aware of what you are posting. Rules are guidelines, and moderators may take action as they see fit. If a user still wishes to appeal disciplinary actions, they can do so through the means explained in chapter 3.
    8. In severe cases, misbehavior on one social platform can lead to disciplinary actions on other platforms or even against your game-account(s).
  3. Reporting users & appealing disciplinary actions

    1. If you wish to report another user or appeal disciplinary actions, please be sure to contact the correct department.
      1. 1A For all social media platforms, you can contact the Community Managers or moderators of that platform.
